Holly Moore is a Melbourne based saxophonist, composer and teacher, cementing her place as a diverse and dynamic new voice in the Australian jazz scene. Her new project THREAD is influenced by heritage and history in Australian improvised music and her own personal stories.
This new sextet features Callum Mintzis (Trombone), Miro Lauritz (Vibraphone), Matt Hoyne (Guitar), Chris Hale (bass) and Lewis Pierre (drums), THREAD weaves tradition and contemporary influences together with this textured, dynamic ensemble. This project is focused on momentum; utilising evolving melodies, rhythmic drive and collective improvisation to create a warm, folksy take on her current inspirations.
